Portland Timbers

The Portland Timbers, based out of Portland, Oregon, are the 18th club of Major League Soccer. The club replaces the USL First Divisions team of the same name while keeping the same ownership. The Portland Timbers play their home games in Jeld-Wen Field.

The Timbers played their first home game on March 19th, 2011. Despite being such a young club, the Timbers have a loyal fan base referred to as the "Timbers Army", founded as the "Cascade Rangers" (after the Cascade Mountain range located in the Pacific Northwest). They also have established a rivalry with the Seattle Sounders, mainly due to the classic Seattle-Portland rivalry.

The club colors worn on the primary kit are ponderosa green and moss green, to honor Oregon's forests. The secondary kit is red, honoring Portland as the "Rose City". The badge of the Portland Timbers has an axe as its focal point, to represent the logging industry found in Oregon.
