New York Red Bulls
New York Red Bulls is a charter club of Major League Soccer, having been a part of the league from its inception. The name has gone through much change, being founded as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars, then in 1998 changed to simply the MetroStars. When Red Bull bought the club in 2006, they changed the name once again to New York Red Bulls. The New York Red Bulls play their home game in Red Bull Arena, located in Harrison, New Jersey.
Although they have never won an MLS Cup, they have found success in the league and are one of Major League Soccer's most recognizable teams. They won the Eastern Conference in both 2000 and 2010. They have built a strong recognition as a club primarily through their great players. Both US greats and International superstars have played in New York club kit. They include Jozy Altidore, Jeff Agoos, Clint Mathis, and Tim Howard. Yet, the most recognizable player to compete for the club is by far the French national and international superstar, Thierry Henry.
The club sports white jerseys with red trim, with a Red Bull logo in the front and center. They have developed rivalries with the Philadelphia Union as well as DC United due mainly to geographic proximity.
