Houston Dynamo

The Houston Dynamo is one of the younger clubs in the MLS, entering the league in 2005. This Houston, Texas based club plays its home games in Robertson Stadium, on the campus of Houston University.

The Dynamo were initially created as a relocation of the San Jose Earthquakes, when the California based club was relocated in December of 2005. Deciding not to take the logo, history, and statistics with them, the Earthquakes were reactivated in 2007. The name "Dynamo" comes from the cities energy based economy.

The Dynamo entered the league nothing short of energetic. They started off the 2006 season winning the Carolina Challenge Cup and defeating the Colorado Rapids 5-2 in their opening game. They went on to win the MLS Cup Final in 2006 with a repeat in 2007. They also Qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Notable former Dynamo players include Brian Ching, Dwayne De Rosario, and Pat Onstad.

The Dynamo's colors are bright orange and white, and are nicknamed by some as the "Orange Crush". They share an in-state rivalry with FC Dallas as well as a rivalry with the San Jose Earthquakes, due to the fact they are their original team that was moved to Houston
