Donovan Ricketts

Donovan Ricketts was born on June 7th, 1977, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Ricketts is daunting figure in goal, standing six feet five inches and weighing 198 lbs. He began his professional career in 2002 when signed with Village United, a club located in his native country of Jamaica. Just two years later, Ricketts signed with Bolton Warriors.

He never played at Bolton, and was later sent to Bradford City where he made his English debut. He eventually made his way back home to Jamaica, playing for a period of time at his old club Village United.

In December of 2008, it was announced that the Los Angeles Galaxy has signed Ricketts for the 2009 season. He made an immediate impact with the Galaxy, leading them to a Western Conference Final and reaching the MLS Cup Final in 2009. Ricketts was named the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2010. He is also currently the vice-captain of the Jamaican national team.
