Charlie Davies was born on June 25, 1986 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Davies set soccer records while playing soccer at Brooks High School. He then decided to play college soccer at Boston College University.
After three years at Boston College, he decided to go pro and not return to play college. He signed with the Swedish club Hammarby IF in 2006. After a slow start in his first years, he exploded on to the soccer scene in 2008 with 14 goals in 24 games. He later signed with Frances Ligue 1 club Sochaux in 2009. After only eight appearances with the club, Davies was involved in a tragic car accident back in the United States.
In April of 2010 he resumed training with the club. He is now on loan with Major League Soccer, playing for DC United. Upon his first months in his first season with the MLS, he was already the leagues top scorer.
