With the latest news that Wayne Rooney has decided to sign with Manchester United after all, you’d have expected a bit of a lull in the transfer rumours market. Well, not a bit of it: the world of football is as filled with gossips as ever, and we’ve got the choicest cuts to share with you, our readers…
-Despite Rooney resigning, it’s apparent that Sir Alex is a long way from being satisfied with his side (and Rooney certainly isn’t). and will attempt to bring in Bastian Schweinsteiger in January in a hope that the German will be able to become a long term replacement for Paul Scholes. This has come in the wake of news that Inter Milan will not be prepared to sell their Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder to the Old Trafford team.
-Blackpool boss/all round legend Ian Holloway has observed that he could struggle to keep hold of their star midfielder Charlie Adam should the larger clubs come knocking for him during the January transfer window. Adam has been an absolute power house for Blackpool this season, and would be a good buy for any team looking to harden up its midfield. Perhaps United should pick him up.
-There are rumours floating around that Liverpool may try and tempt away midfielder Steven Pienaar from their rivals Everton, as the South African’s contract is due to run out in the summer. Whilst it could be very tempting for the midfielder to sign for a club with more history, it’s very likely that any transfer may depend on how the two Merseyside teams end up placing this season.
-In a move that will surprise virtually no-one if it actually goes through, it seems Carlo Ancelloti is very keen to bring in the Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale in order to bolster the Chelsea midfielder. Presumably this has come as a result of the champion’s apparent reliance on Frank Lampard to run the midfield.
